Rickie Tapie Brandt, a loving wife, mother and RiRi, passed away peacefully after a hard fought battle with adenoid cystic cancer at the age of 71 on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Survived by her loving children Richard "Ricky" Allen Brandt, Jr., Scott Michael Brandt (Amy), and Brienne Brandt Frey (Henry). Devoted grandmother of Tyler St. Pierre, Ava Brandt, Emerson Brandt, Hadley Brandt, Brandt Frey, and Aubrey Frey. Siblings Wanda Tapie Booth (John), Russell Tapie (Gail), and Kathleen Songy Berniard (Conrad). Siblings-in-law John Brandt, Jr., Stephen Brandt (Joan), Becky Brandt Muller (Jerry), Jodi Brandt Carbo (Harry), and Shawn Wassong. She was beloved by many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Ricky" Allen Brandt, Sr., parents, Nell Gonzales Tapie and Farrell "Bubby" Tapie, in-laws, Vivian LaBruyere Brandt and John Brandt, Sr., sisters-in-law, Cindy Brandt Wassong and Becky Brandt, and niece, Michelle Songy.
Rickie, born on August 12th in New Orleans, graduated from Riverdale High School in 1971. She was the Vice-President of Riverdale gymnastics team and President of Future Homemakers of America, attended Southeastern Louisiana University, and married her high school sweetheart, Ricky, in 1972. She started her work life as a teacher at Our Lady of Divine Providence School, then became a dedicated homemaker to her family, and ventured back into the workforce as a licensed customer service representative with Allstate and did administrative work for other companies. Rickie enjoyed spending the last 19 years with her Bunco Buddies.
Rickie always put others' needs before her own and lovingly cared for her family and friends. She will forever be remembered for her selflessness and care for others. Her 6 grandchildren were the light of her life and she received so much joy watching and following them in all the activities they loved.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive,
