Our grandpa, Rick Earl Roosa, of Remus, Michigan, passed away on October 5th, 2025, in his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Rick was born at Sheridan Community hospital on February 16th, 1954, to Earl and Margaret. Rick grew up in Edmore, Michigan where he graduated from Montabella High School in 1973.
Following graduation, he went on to work as a laborer for 19 years and transitioned to a devoted career through the Operating Engineers Local 324 as a 'heavy equipment operator' for 35 years.
Rick is survived by his wife Mary Roosa of 45 years, three daughters Raquel (Marty) Bergey, Justine Roosa, Bethany (Ryan) Hill. Grandchildren Blain, Korryn, Gracie, Brenna, Madalyn, Garrett, Augustus, Parker, and his grand-dog Bruce Wayne, and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Rick is proceeded in death by his Mother Margaret 'Midge' and stepfather William Richardson, his father Earl Roosa, sister Marilyn, brother Rodney, and his mother and father-in-law Walt and Donna Flachs.
Rick spent his time after retirement with his family and friends in his favorite place, the garage, drinking his favorite Old Milwaukee, playing cards, or watching either a Tiger's game, Lions game, or a Western. He will be remembered through the memories from his loving family he built with Mary, and his accomplishments during his time being a part of the Local 324. Our grandpa was one of the sweetest hearts anyone has ever met, everyone's best friend, biggest supporter, especially to his daughter Justine who he immensely supported through her ongoing battle with Breast Cancer. As Grandpa said, "family is everything." We will never forget the love and support you have shown all of us through your words, actions, and hugs.
We will be celebrating the life Rick lived how he would want us to, at his home with family and friends on Saturday, October 11th at Noon. The address is 1734 Indian Lake Rd. Remus, MI, 49340
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Isabella Community Cancer Service in honor of his daughter Justine who is battling breast cancer.
