Riley Daniel Ray Huiras, age 20, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from a brain aneurysm. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services for Riley will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the United Methodist Church, 441 Garfield St., Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 10:00 until the time of service also at the United Methodist Church in Wisconsin Rapids. A private graveside burial will take place following the funeral service.
Riley was born on April 26, 2002, in Manitowoc, WI to Kevin and Tami (Drew) Huiras. Riley is a 2020 graduate of Lincoln High School. He attended UW-Platteville for one year and then transferred to MSTC to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice with plans to attend the Police Academy. Riley completed the Firefighter 1 State Practical Exam.
Riley enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad, on-line video gaming with his friends, Dungeons and Dragons, he enjoyed playing the violin and tickling the ivories of a piano. As a youth Riley participated in Boy Scouts and earned the highest rank becoming an Eagle Scout. He loved camping and earning all of his badges. His greatest passion is the betterment of others through police work and firefighting. Riley was a member of the Grand Rapids Auxiliary Police Department which was his pride and joy. He loved doing the ride alongs and seeing police action first hand. Most recently he had joined the Grand Rapids Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed racing out the door for those fire calls.
Riley was a baseball fan and worked with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters organization for the past 6 years. He looked forward to going to work and recording those runs and walks!
Because of Riley's generous and caring nature he was an organ donor. To the amazement of the donation team Riley was able to donate all of his organs to matching recipients. His loving and caring spirit will continue to live on.
Riley is survived by his parents Kevin and Tami Huiras of Wisconsin Rapids; younger brother Owen of Wisconsin Rapids; grandparents Dan and Sue Drew of Columbus, WI; special aunties Teri Weiland and Mary Hughes of Columbus, WI; special cousins Griffin, Kennedy and Griyan Hughland of Columbus, WI; Uncle Larry (Nadine) Huiras of Random Lake,WI; Uncle Brian (Pam) Huiras of Fredonia, WI; Uncle Allan Huiras of Random Lake, WI; and Aunt Renee Huiras of Grafton, WI; Riley is further survived by many other aunts and uncles, cousins, great cousins and loving friends.
Riley is preceded in death by his grandparents Alois and Agnes Huiras.
