FITCHBURG: Rita T. (Sabourin) LeBlanc, 93, a resident of Fitchburg, died Saturday, September 14, 2024 at HealthAlliance – Leominster Hospital.
Mrs. LeBlanc was born in Fitchburg, October 27, 1930, a daughter of George Sabourin and Armosa (LeCuyer) Sabourin Deloge Rousseau and was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. LeBlanc attended St. Joseph's Church and was a member of the Friends of Fitchburg Seniors, Beta Sigma Phi and the American Legion Post # 429 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Friday night Pitch games and spending time with her family.
Most recently, Mrs. LeBlanc had worked as a customer service representative at K-Mart in Fitchburg.
She leaves her daughter, Maria D. Kukkula of Fitchburg; her sister, Annette Piermarini of Fitchburg; her daughter in law, Pamela Berry of Charlton; five grandchildren, Kaitlin Kukkula, Brian Kukkula, Elizabeth Kukkula, Kyle LeBlanc, Evan LeBlanc; two great grandchildren, Victoria Kukkula and Noah Kukkula.
In 2012 she was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Henry C. "Pete" LeBlanc. She was also predeceased by her son, Randy G. LeBlanc of Charlton, her brother, Norman Sabourin of Gardner and her stepfather, Adolphus Deloge.
Mrs. LeBlanc's family would like to extend their grateful thanks to her caretakers, Amanda, Lenny, Glenda and Kaitlin, who helped make her later years so much more comfortable.
Mrs. LeBlanc's family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation period 4-7 PM Monday, September 23, 2024 at the Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon Street, Fitchburg. www.andersonfuneral.com.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland Street, Fitchburg. Interment will be at the parish cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Rita's and Randy's memory may be made to the Angel Fund for ALS, 649 Main Street, Wakefield, MA 01880
