Robert W. Ackerman, 95, of Fremont, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Bethesda Care Center. He was born November 8, 1928 in Fremont, the son of William and Estella (Bundschuh) Ackerman. He attended St. Joseph High and went on to serve in the United States Navy in the Pacific following World War II. Robert retired from Whirlpool Manufacturing working as a forklift driver and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  He enjoyed relaxing on the porch in the sunshine and having a great conversation.  

Surviving are his sons Brian K. Ackerman, Allen R. Ackerman and wife Lisa.  Grandchildren Robert C., Ethan, David Jr., Beatrice, and Aurora. Great-grandchildren Brady, Isaiah, Nico, Anne, Julia, Elaina, Finn and Lincoln . He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Raye June in 1999 and siblings John, Pete, Thomas, James, Rita, Mary, Norma, Roseline, Eva Eberly and Hildegad Dempsey.

Graveside services will take place Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Oakwood Cemetery, with military graveside rites performed by the V.F.W. and American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made to any Veterans charity. Online condolences may be expressed at www.hermanfh.com. Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
