Robert Brendon Austin, 67, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away on February 25, 2024. He was born on August 10, 1956 in West Point, New York to the late Thomas and Margaret (Hart) Austin. He was raised with his three sisters in Wolcott, Connecticut. After college, Robert was privileged to travel and lived in many parts of the United States where he made countless lasting friendships.
He married Jocelyn Tanciongco on October 4, 2014 at Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Toms River, New Jersey and she survives in Bowling Green.
Robert obtained his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Connecticut, his Master of Civil Engineering from the University of Texas, Arlington, and his Doctorate of Philosophy from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Authored: Successful Delivery of Flash-track Projects (Construction Industry Institute, RR 311). He worked as an Engineer for Stone and Webster, AECOM and currently for Matrix. Also, he was a Professor of Construction Management at BGSU for 5 years.
He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bowling Green; A+/Advanced Articulators Toastmasters club and attained his Distinguished Toastmaster designation; and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Robert enjoyed spending time with his wife, Jocelyn, hiking, going to museums, attending Broadway musicals, traveling as well as watching history, news, sports, drama and comedy shows.
Along with his beloved wife, Jocelyn, Robert is survived by his sister Ann (Thomas) Vincent of Brownville, New York; nephew Sean Vincent, Watertown, New York, niece, Krista (Michael) Iannetta and grandnephew, Giovanni Iannetta, Watertown, New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Timothy Austin, niece Tara Austin Vincent and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday March 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 150 S. Enterprise St. Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. A luncheon will immediately follow the mass at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home in Bowling Green. Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
