Beverly, MA - Robert S. Badessa, Sr., 92, of Beverly, passed away August 2, 2025 at Beverly Hospital. Son of the late Patrick and Florence (Cataldo) Badessa, and widower of the late Arlene C. (Mooney) Badessa, Robert was born in Malden and raised in Melrose. He graduated from Melrose High School and was drafted into the US Army. His service was spent in Korea after the signing of the armistice.
After an honorable discharge, he attended Fitchburg State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in industrial science. He then earned a master's degree from Lesley in Applied Management. Robert went to work for Raytheon in Lowell, where he enjoyed a 30+ year career as an Industrial Engineer and Capital Planning Manager.
Robert loved the ocean and being on the water. He spent every day he could on his boat sailing and fishing. He was a life member of Jubilee Yacht Club and served as Commodore in 1979 and 1980. He was active in local politics and served on the Beverly Harbor Management Authority in the early 2000's.
Robert is survived by: His son Robert S. Badessa, Jr. of Beverly; his daughter Tara Calianos of Stoneham; his sister Catherine Fresco of Beverly; his grandchildren Isabella Aguiar and Sophia Calianos and many nieces and nephews.
