Robert Russell "Rusty" Beckham left this world gently and peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. He was born in Jackson, Mississippi on July 26, 1955. He later moved and grew up in Metairie, Louisiana graduating from Archbishop Rummel High School. He then attended LSU where he received his BS in Business Management. Afterward, he attended Berean School of the Bible where he earned his ministerial license and was subsequently ordained. Rusty is survived by Sabrina Musemeche Beckham, the mother of his children who remained a constant caring presence in his life; his children Natalie Vanderhyden (Adam), Zoe Grace Beckham, Benjamin Beckham, John Beckham, and Kyle Beckham (Tommi), and granddaughters Gretchen, Molly, and Piper. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Susan Musemeche Lowrie (Kevin), who was devoted in her steadfast love, thoughtfulness, and support for Rusty throughout the years. He is survived by his siblings Ann Bell (Ken), Jim Beckham (Sharon), Randy Beckham (Patty), and Bill Beckham (Susan) along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Helen Elizabeth Davis Beckham and Winfield Walton Beckham and his sisters-in-law Sharon Beckham and Susan Beckham. Rusty loved Jesus, his family, Star Wars, Dr. Pepper, and chocolate covered cherries. He could be counted on every fall to proclaim, "This is the year the Saints are going to do it!" He had a true concern for others which eventually led him into full time ministry which he served in for fifteen years both in Metairie and Mandeville. Rusty adored his children and saw them as his greatest purpose in life. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The family wishes to thank Brittany Tyler and her kind compassionate staff at Brookdale Senior Living for all of their care and friendship toward Rusty for many years. A private memorial service will be held by the family. The Beckham family invites you to share thoughts, fondest memories, and condolences online at E. J.
