Sandra J. Derenbecker

Sandra "Sandy"Jane Derenbecker, 67, passed away peacefully of natural causes at her home in Kenner, LA on November 4, 2025. Born on April 3, 1958, in New Orleans, LA, Sandy was the cherished daughter of the late Edgar and Barbara Derenbecker.

A proud alumni, she was a talented and dedicated member of both the Union City High School (UCHS) and Louisiana State University (LSU) marching bands, carrying her love for music and spirit throughout her life.

Sandy was widely known and beloved as the family historian, approaching her passion for genealogy with unwavering dedication and enthusiasm. She meticulously documented the family's past, creating a rich legacy for future generations. Her interests also extended to America's favorite pastime; she was a devoted baseball fan and an active member of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR).

Her warmth, intelligence, and meticulous nature made an everlasting impression on the earth and all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by many.

Sandy was preceded in death by her loving parents, Edgar and Barbara Derenbecker. She is survived by her three devoted siblings: Eddie Derenbecker (Rachel), Ron Derenbecker (Susan), and Linda Sanders (Kevin). She also leaves behind ten adoring nieces and nephews, who will forever cherish her memory.

Visitation will be at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive Metairie LA 70001 on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 10:00 am until 12:00 Noon, with a service and burial immediately following.
