Robert M Bulson

Robert "Bobo" Michael Bulson of Poughkeepsie, born April 19, 1945, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025. He is pre deceased by his parents, George and Stella Bulson and his brother, George Bulson Jr.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Loni Bulson; his daughter and caregiver, Nicole Schmitt; his son-in-law, Gregory Schmitt; and his grandchildren, Devon and Steven Schmitt. He is also survived by his daughter Candace Page; her husband, Kevin Page; and his grandchildren, Victoria and Kevin Page jr.
Bob graduated from Arlington High School in 1965. During his time at AHS, he made a lasting impact over four years as a key player on the varsity football team. After high school he proudly served 2 years in the Army National Guard. He dedicated his life to protecting others and served his community with courage and compassion, spending 33 years with the Arlington Fire Department IAFF Local 2393. He was a life member of Arlington Engine Company #1 and one of the twenty-one Charter Members. He also served as a part time Deputy Sheriff in Dutchess County and was a life member of the Poughkeepsie Elks Lodge #275
He embodied what it means to be a firefighter; fearless, dedicated, and always putting others before himself. His fun-loving attitude and relentless work ethic made him a brother to all who had the honor of serving alongside him. Bobo was the kind of firefighter you could always count on, the one who would always have your back no matter the situation.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was known for collecting gadgets and absolutely loved his flashlight collection. He also had a habit of eating the strangest food combinations and saying the goofiest things, always finding a way to make everyone around him laugh.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 4pm to 6pm at the Timothy P Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 10am at the funeral home, followed by a burial at St. Peter's Cemetery, 171 Salt Point Tpk, Poughkeepsie, New York 12603.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robert's name can be made to the Arlington Professional Firefighters Local 2393, 11 Burnett Blvd, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
