Robert Burkhalter

Robert Scott Burkhalter, fondly known as Rob, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March, 19 2024. Rob was born on July 19, 1966 in Tuscaloosa, AL. He was a man of many talents, a creative thinker, funny, and an intelligent individual. Rob was a man who could light up a room with his infectious laughter, sharp wit, and his clever insights. His creativity was not only evident in his scientific endeavors as a Bioanalytical Chemist, but also in the way he lived his life, making his residence in Painted Post, NY, a haven of joy and camaraderie known as "Deerlandia."
Rob earned his doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Alabama, and earned his post-doctorate at the University of Tennessee; proud achievements that set the course for his remarkable career in glass research and development. He dedicated 25 years of his life to Corning Incorporated, where his innovative contributions made a lasting impact. But work was not all for Rob. He was an avid fan of the University of Alabama football, and his love for sports extended to golf and other athletic pursuits. His home was a testament to his love for life, filled with laughter, love, and the company of his wife, his dog, Bella, and many loved ones and friends.
Rob is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Burkhalter; sister, Kathy (Bill) Baldwin; brother-in-law, Andy (Laura) Stafford; his beloved dog, Bella; and many other loved ones and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Frances Burkhalter. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and the stories of his funny and creative nature will continue to bring smiles to their faces.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
