Robert “ Bruce” Catterton, age 73, husband of Mary C Catterton, devoted father of 2 sons, Ryan Catterton and Ross Catterton and grandfather to Gabriel passed away on September 21, 2024. This was the day following the celebration of 49 years of marriage to the love of his life.
Bruce loved his family, was active in his church, loved his Lord and was a loving example of a kind man, father and faithful husband. He is greatly missed by all who knew him. Bruce’s memorial service was held in last fall at Wichmann Funeral Home in Appleton with immediate family attending.
Bruce is survived by his wife Mary, his children Ryan and Ross, his grandchild Gabriel, and his sister Barbara. Bruce was preceded by his mother Jean and his father Frank.
A graveside celebration led by Pastor Michael Ewart will take place on Friday June 20, at 2:00pm at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton. We will celebrate the laying to rest of his remains, and his homegoing. Friends and family are invited to attend.

Bruce, age 73, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, at his home in Appleton, the day after celebrating his 49th wedding anniversary to his beloved wife, Mary. He was born on August 6th, 1951, in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of Frank Catterton and Jean Muir. He spent his childhood with his sister Barbara, and mother, in Columbus, Ohio and he graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Communications that would lead him to a job at WFRV in Green Bay, Wisconsin as a Camera Operator and Floor Engineer where he would meet his future wife Mary Louise Chopin in 1973. They were wed on September 20, 1975.
Bruce was a wonderful father and husband and is a shining example to his family and those blessed enough to know him of what it truly means to be a completely selfless and hardworking man of character and of faith, always putting others before himself. He loved his family, his Milwaukee Brewers, his Green Bay Packers, his charcoal grill, and his Lord.
Bruce is survived by his wife Mary, his children Ryan and Ross, his grandchild Gabriel, and his sister Barbara. Bruce was preceded by his mother Jean and his father Frank.
The family will hold a private ceremony at Wichmann Funeral Home in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Bruce’s name. Contributions may be left with the funeral home for the family.
