Robert "Lee" Culbertson Jr. of Bakersfield was born March 10, 1952 in Charlotte, North Carolina and passed away on Wednesday August 27, 2025. He was the eldest son of Robert Lee Culbertson and Mary Culbertson Hough. He was proceeded in death by his Father Robert and brother Michael.
Lee attended Arvin High School and graduated 1971. In his early years Lee worked for Fred Frick Feedlot in Arvin where he developed a strong work ethic. Later he was employed by and retired from, the Maricopa Water District after 30 years.
Sports were always a big part of Lees life and up to his illness he enjoyed biking regularly with his friends on the paths around Bakersfield. He also enjoyed the beach and had many wonderful times with his family in San Clemente and Morro Bay.
Lee is survived by his wife Ruth Ford Culbertson of 54 years and two children Dan (Stacy) Culbertson of Bakersfield and Renee (Josh) Cienfuegos of Aubrey, Texas, five Grandchildren; Claudia (Chase) Blackwood of Lubbock, Texas, Claire (Nicole) Lieske of Glencoe, Minnesota, Connar (Itsel) Culbertson of Bakersfield, Aaron Culbertson of Bakersfield, Abby Culbertson of Bakersfield and Great-Grandchild Beau Blackwood of Lubbock, Texas.
Lee will also be forever missed by his Mother Mary Culbertson Hough of Los Osos, California, Brother John (Sherri) Culbertson of Woody, California, Sister Linda Culbertson Burton of Lake Nacimiento, California, Sister Susie (Ty) Baker of Bakersfield, Brother David Culbertson of Morro Bay, California and his Aunt Sarah Daly of Bakersfield and numerous Nephews, Nieces, In-Laws and close friends.
The family would like to thank all the Doctors, medical staff and dear friends who were so helpful and supportive during his illness.
