Robert Danis Obituary
Saco
Robert "Bob" D. Danis, 76, of Saco, passed away on the morning of December 22, 2025, in Biddeford.
He was born in Biddeford, Maine on March 2, 1949, a son of Albert and Anita (Dutremble) Danis. He was raised in the Saco-Biddeford area alongside brothers and sisters.
Bob graduated from Thornton Academy. After graduation, he decided to serve in the United States Army where he served his country for three years. After being discharged, Bob was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a pipe fitter for 20 years.
In between breaks and layoffs from the shipyard, Bob also worked for Lloyd Stetson Construction.
For many years, Bob was a dedicated member of AMVETS where he advocated for his brothers and sisters in arms.
In his free time, Bob would spend time on the water fishing and enjoying Maine's natural beauty. Additionally, he was an avid coin collector and took pride in his assortment of change. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family who will miss him dearly.
Robert was predeceased by his mother: Anita (Dutremble) Danis, his father: Albert Danis, and his brother: Marc Danis.
Robert is survived by his son: Christopher Metayer, his brother: Carl Danis, his sisters: Lisa Harvey and Carmen Cook, and his grandchild: Olivia Metayer.
A graveside service with military honors will take place at 1PM Friday, January 9th, 2026 at Southern Maine Veterans' Cemetery, Springvale.
Information for a Celebration of Life that will take place in the spring will be announced at a later date.
