Robert P. Duffy

Robert "Bob" P. Duffy passed away on October 27, 2024 of natural causes. Bob was a resident of Sewell, NJ and, formerly, lived in Gloucester Twp., NJ. He was 78. Beloved husband of Lynne Duffy (nee McAleer). Beloved father of Andrew (Jodi), Christine (James), Brian. Loving "Bobbob" of Jack and Kaitlyn Duffy, Taylor Ross (Kenneth), Kiley Weldon, and Mac Weldon. Great Grandfather of Maggie, and Harper Ross. Dear brother of Maureen Maddock (Daniel), and Leonard Terris (Helen). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and loving family.
Bob grew up in Franklin Square, NY and attended St. Agnes High School, where he was an outstanding cross country runner who won the Long Island Regional Championship. He attended Mount St. Mary's College (B.A.) and Rutgers University (M.A.). Bob became a devoted educator and a renowned track and cross country coach. He had a profound impact on his runners, who credit him for being "a truly unbelievable influence on us," "such a special human being," and "an icon of a father, coach and educator, and a throughly enjoyable guy to drink a beer with." After a distinguished career, Bob found his dream retirement job working at Pine Valley Golf Club. Bob was adored by his family and friends, especially his wife of 55 years, Lynne, his children, and his grandchildren. Bob will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his infectious personality, his passion for helping others achieve their goals, his selflessness, and for a life very well lived. "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear."
There will be a visitation on Sunday, November 3rd from 5:00-7:00 pm at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, 126 S. Black Horse Pike, Runnemede, NJ and on Monday November 4th from 9:45 to 10:45 am at CHURCH OF THE HOLY FAMILY, 226 Hurffville Rd, Sewell, NJ 08080. There will be a Memorial Mass at 11:00 am on Monday at CHURCH OF THE HOLY FAMILY.
