Robert "Bobby" Lee Hood III, 61, of Des Moines passed away at home on November 15, 2024 after his hard and strong battle with cancer. A visitation will be held at Iles Grandview Park Chapel on Tuesday November, 19, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 pm with a Funeral Service beginning at 4:00 pm.
Bobby Hood III was born to Robert and Cookie Hood on December 13, 1962 in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 1981. Bob became a hard working man and spent most of his career as a Crane Operator at Chicago Tube and Iron, retiring after 25 years.
Bob loved his grandchildren and loved to spend time with them, especially baking cakes with Collette. Bob liked to fish, attending races, gardening, and being surrounded by his friends and family. He was an avid San Francisco 49er's fan.
Bob is survived by his mother, Cookie (Sanford) Hood; children, Anthony Michael Hood, Robert Lee Hood IV, Annie Hood, and Levi (Anneliese Morris) Hood; grandchildren, Tony Daniel Hood, Collette Rose Hood, and Robert Lee Hood V; sister, Ranee (Danny) Burke, Ranita Stevens; his beloved dog, Baby and grandpup Charlie, and along with several loving extended family members. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Hood Jr. and pets, Tundra and Morris.
In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the family making a check payable to Ranee Burke.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Jawa and Bobby's nurse Katie at John Stoddard Cancer Centers.
