It is with great sadness and heavy heart that Nick and Karlee Schrunk share the passing of Karlee's
grandfather Bob Kehl.
Robert Albert Kehl, Jr, age 87, died at his home in Littleton, CO on October 8, 2024.
He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Bob and Elsie Kehl. He was the proud big brother to his sister,
Jerry Oviatt (Kent & Danielle), and brother Doug Kehl (Jenny, Steve, Mindy, preceded in death by
Roberta and Matt). He was also survived by Jane, his wife of 62 years, their daughter Karla (Tony), son
Bobby, and son Rick (Erin).
He was the proud mentor, Grandpa, and Papa to TJ (Dana), Karlee (Nick Schrunk), Chase, Kelsie,
Brooklyn, Quinncy, and Ryder.
Also, he was the Great Papa Bob to Sydney, Kade, Bryce, Kort, and Kayzie.
Bob graduated from East High School, the University of Utah, and an intensive engineering program at
the University of Colorado.
After serving our country in the Army and the United States National Guard, he had a fifty plus year
career at the phone company. One of his fondest career memories was his appointment to the National
ESAC Committee. He enjoyed years of collaboration and friendship.
Bob enjoyed coaching his sons' baseball and soccer teams. He had a knack of turning underdogs into
winners on and off the field. He also logged many hours volunteering at the National Sports Center for
the Disabled in Winter Park and Meals on Wheels in Littleton.
In his retirement years he worked in West Yellowstone at the Museum. He loved touring others in the
Yellowstone Historic Yellow Bus and sharing his vast knowledge of Yellowstone National Park.
Bob enjoyed traveling, fishing, skiing, train rides, tutoring grandkids in high level math, and family.
Memories were made and cherished at home, the cabin in Island Park, Idaho, Yellowstone, Hawaii, and
Disney.
He was a man that will be remembered for a Coke and a smile, Heinz Ketchup, Wonder Bread, Twinkies,
Malasadas, apple turnovers, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, marbles, and sticky mops.
Until we meet again Rest in Peace Big Bob. We love you beyond words.
