Robert LaFramboise Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Robert Francis LaFramboise passed away peacefully at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, on January 3, 2022. On February 17, 1941, Robert (Bob) was born to Emmett LaFramboise and Floreine Patchen LaFramboise Walling in Bismarck, North Dakota. His family moved to Oregon and then later moved to Brigham City, Utah, in 1949. Floreine raised five boys to be strong, independent men.

Robert graduated from Box Elder High School, where he loved playing football. He continued to play football and baseball at Snow College.

Robert worked in maintenance at the Intermountain Indian School in Brigham City, Utah. He served as a coast guard member in Salt Lake City from 1976-1979, and then worked at Hill Air Force Base, retiring after 32 years.

He married Mary Quaderer in 1963; they had three beautiful daughters, Christy, Lori, and Sydni. Robert and Mary later divorced.

In 1985, Bob married his best friend Marge Laburada, blending two wonderful families together. Bob became a strong, loving father figure to Cindy, Monette, and Shane.

Robert enjoyed watching golf, basketball, and football and was a huge fan of the Utah Jazz and BYU. He enjoyed traveling and going to Wendover with friends and family.

Robert was an avid sportsman who loved hunting, archery, fishing and camping with family and friends. He worked as a duck hunting guide at The Million Dollar Gun Club at the bird refuge near Brigham City. Bob was an accomplished archer and even shot a "Robin Hood", a rare feat, which is when a second arrow splits an arrow that is already in the bullseye. On one guided hunt in Colorado, he shot and wounded a bear with an arrow and had to track the bear down. His grandsons love this story. In fact, his Lakota Sioux name is "Good Bow Hunter". Bob was very proud of his heritage as a member of the Lakota Indian Tribe.

He was a dedicated and competitive golfer (he may have taken sick leave for it a couple of times). In his lifetime, he made three hole-in-ones! Robert and Marge loved to play golf together and enjoyed many tournaments with friends.

Robert was the sweetest, most caring man to grace this earth. He cherished the times with friends and family. Bob was inspirational and always said the right things when needed. When he made mistakes, he was able to pass along his knowledge to family in a caring manner. He was the unsung hero that was never looking for praise or credit. Robert never complained. When family was together, he was simply happy and content. Some would say he had smiling eyes. He truly cared for his family and gave the best life lessons, experiences, fun, and most importantly, love to us all. He was a proud and respected man who exuded love and trust.

Robert is survived by his wife Marge LaFramboise; three brothers Wallis LaFramboise, Frank LaFramboise, and Joseph Walling (Gloriana); five daughters Christy Maki (Steve), Lori LaFramboise, Sydni Aguirre (Chris), Cindy Watkins, and Monette Clair; one son Shane Fleming (Michelle); 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Lyle LaFramboise.

We would like to thank the nurses and doctors at McKay-Dee Hospital for caring for Robert and his family through this difficult time. He certainly had angels all around him.

Per Robert's wishes, there will be no services at this time. We will have a "Celebration of Life" in April with friends and family. The date is to be determined. Please sign the guestbook, write memories, and add pictures you would like to share.
