Robert Eugene Link

Robert “Bob" Eugene Link, 71, recently of Graham, NC, and formerly a resident of Orange County for most of his life, passed away on August 25, 2025 at Peak Resources Graham, NC, under the care of Authoricare Hospice.

Bob was born on May 25, 1954, and attended Orange County Schools, East Carolina University and Elon College. Bob was employed for many years by Colliers Medical Supply working for North Carolina Hospitals across the state, and then as a technician servicing specialty dental equipment at the UNC-Chapel Hill University School of Dentistry.

Everyone who met Bob knew of his great passion for music and cooking. Bob enjoyed collecting and playing both electric and acoustic guitars. It was not unusual for friends and family to drop by hoping for some great music and tasty food that Bob enjoyed preparing and sharing. Folks who enjoyed Bob’s exceptional grilling achievements were very lucky indeed. Bob was super intelligent, paired with a wonderful wit and sense of humor.

Bob is predeceased by his parents, John Marshall Link, Sr. and Peggy Evelyn Josephine Sykes Link. He is survived by his former wife, Becky Link and their daughters Melody Link Aponte of Haw River, NC and Lori Link Sollenberger (husband lan), 2 grandsons Everett Abel, 5, and Atticus James, 2, of Santa Monica, California. In addition, Bob has another grandson, Macklin Moses (mom Lori) due in September. Bob is also survived by his brothers John M. Link, Jr. (Ginger) of Eno, Orange County, and Thomas E. Link of Eno, Orange County, and his nephew, Ryan Link (Alicja, Hudson and Norah) of Hillsborough, NC and niece, Elizabeth Link Jacks (Luke and Lily) of Pittsboro, NC, and many loving family cousins and friends.

A private graveside service for the family is planned at Maplewood Cemetery in Durham, NC. Bob’s family will host a Celebration of Life, for friends and family, which will be announced at a later date.
