It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our most cherished family members, Robert Michael "Bobby" Marcos on October 16, 2024. Bobby was a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a devout Catholic and humble human being. He was born June 2, 1954, in Honolulu, Hawaii to the late Nemesio and Alionora Marcos.
Bobby married the love of his life, Brenda on June 11, 1988. Bobby and Brenda cherished every moment they shared over their thirty-six years of marriage. They were best friends and loved each other limitlessly. They became synonymous and it was rare to see one without the other.
As a child, while living in Hawaii, Bobby developed his love for sports, specifically baseball in his youth, where he played shortstop and pitcher. His athleticism continued into adulthood. Not only did his love for baseball continue, but he played on a co-ed softball team with his wife, daughter and son-in-law. He also enjoyed boating and skiing, on both water and snow. He was a talented fly-fisherman and tied his own flies. All of this he did with a competitive passion, but always in good fun.
Prior to retirement in Lebanon, Bobby was employed as a restaurant manager in historic downtown St. Charles, Missouri. After retiring from the restaurant business, Bobby loved the interaction with the people at his job at the local car wash. One of these interactions led him to being awarded Man Among Men in 2017.
Bobby was a talented musician. It was his passion. In younger years he played in various bands and he and Brenda loved their time playing music over the years at Mass. His musical talents were requested in various places over the years and he was always willing to oblige. Often he and his dear friend, Martin Jimenez would perform together. However, one of his most rewarding performances was playing back-up for his granddaughter at her Christmas recital.
Bobby was gregarious. He never met a stranger, which came in handy in recent years as he and Brenda were campground hosts at Hidden Valley Outfitters since May of 2020. Bobby was selfless and kind. He was always willing to help others, often to a fault. His smile was contagious, which was wonderful because he was always wearing it. He loved his life and the people in it unconditionally.
He leaves to celebrate his memory, his loving and devoted wife Brenda; five children, Mary Auer (Keith), Richard Harrell (Debbie), John Harrell (Shannon), Ken Harrell (Ashley) and Justin Marcos; nineteen grandchildren, Brett Auer (Brittany), Blake Auer, Addison Auer, Evan Auer (Tiffany), Logan Auer, Ashley Auer, Tristan Auer, Derrick Harrell (Celeste) Zach Harrell (Sidney), Brittany Harrell, Nathan Harrell, Zach Akers, Emily Broyles (Brian), Caroline Harrell, Evie Harrell, Dean Harrell, Tristan, Arin Marcos and Nell Marcos; eleven great-grandchildren, Cerella, Damian, Ilsa, Mineva, Trevor and Valerie Auer, Jaxon, River, Nora, Abram and Emma Harrell; siblings, Maria "Tina" Pine, Arthur Marcos, Delia Ricardo, Carmela Kane and their families; brother and sisters-in-law, Bruce Luckett (Gail) and MaryKay Drennen and their families; other relatives and countless friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and his eldest son, Arin Marcos.
Bobby was the type of person you could meet once and remember forever. He was a friend to all. He was humble and kind. His laughter was infectious and he lived life to the fullest. Our lives are better because of him.
Funeral Mass for Bobby will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. at
