Robert J. McTaggart, 63, passed away on May 5, 2025 at his home. Born in
Springfield, MA on March 12, 1962, he was the son of Patricia (McGinty) McTaggart and the late Robert B. McTaggart. He graduated from Longmeadow High School in 1980 and then attended George Washington University, the University of Massachusetts and Springfield Technical Community College.
Rob will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and nurse. He loved a good laugh, an audience for a funny story, a family gathering or an energetic party.
For over 30 years, Rob worked as a critical care nurse at Holyoke Medical Center and was awarded the Stellar Nurse Award. In his spare time, he enjoyed nature, fishing, hiking, and animals, especially dogs. He explored his artistic side with photography, sketching and attending school for graphic design. Rob had a love of Rome, Maine as well. The calming water of Great Pond always brought him peace. Above all, Rob was an incredible father and grandfather.
To cherish his memory, Rob leaves his wife, Karen McTaggart; his children Robert P. and his wife Arlene Mateo, Keeley, Chase, Tanner and Rory McTaggart; his grandchildren Stevie and Robert A.
