Robert Scott Nichols

Robert Scott Nichols, 61, a lifelong area resident, died on November 4, 2024 at St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway.
Born in Poughkeepsie on March 29, 1963, he was the son of Robert and Gail (Case) Nichols. Scott grew up in Wappingers Falls with his brother Russell. Scott was a graduate of Arlington High School and attended SUNY Brockport, where he achieved an All-American Wrestling status, Division I and III. In 1984, Scott was an Alternate for the US Olympic Team as a super-heavy weight. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving hunting, fishing and camping. Scott was a Life Member at the Whortlekill Rod & Gun Club. Scott was well known for being a giant teddy bear and gave the best massages.
He married the love of his life, Christine Simon, on June 17, 2000 at Saint Columba Catholic Church in Hopewell Junction. In 2008, they welcomed their daughter to complete his family.
Scott is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Christine; daughter Rebecca; father Robert; brother Russell Nichols and his wife Lynn; niece Victoria Widrick and husband Ryan; and nephew Ryan Nichols. Scott is also survived by his cousin Christopher Case and his wife Jennifer, and his children Jack Case and Katie Case, as well as his uncle Rodney Case.
Scott was predeceased by his mother Gail Nichols; his aunts Arlene, Deborah and Lucy Case; his Uncles Jack Case and his wife Odette, and Michael Case.
To honor Scott's wishes, no services will be held.
