Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors - Royal Oak on Apr. 2, 2024.
Robert Leon Pasquinelli, 87, of
Royal Oak, Michigan, peacefully passed away on March 30th, 2024. At the time of his passing, Bob was lovingly encircled by many of his family members, comfortably within his home.
Bob is survived by his close-knit family, whom he and his predeceased wife, Geraldine Pasquinelli, shared for 61 beautiful years: Children Martin (Julie), Matthew (Tammy), Peter, Martina (Rick), Marcella & Marcus; Grandchildren Sydney, Alexandra, Madison (Josh), Nicholas, Olivia, Noah, Rennie (Chris), Peyton, Haley, Keaton, Hannah & Gannon; and Great-Grandchildren Harloe & Greyson.
Fondly remembered by Bob were his early years in Detroit and Huntington Woods, where he was raised and cherished as the only child of Peter and Marian "Bobbie" Pasquinelli. He learned the values of love and hard work from his parents, who were both first-generation Americans. After pursuing higher education at Western Michigan University, Bob embarked on a fulfilling career in advertising, leading him to an esteemed position at the Ross Roy advertising firm. But despite the demands of his career, Bob's family was always his priority and he cherished every moment he spent with his wife and six children.
Geraldine and Bob were the foundation of the inseparable Pasquinelli family; through their model of care and affection, they cemented in a bond that will continue to live on, with strength, even in their absence. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, "Papa" was always there for every milestone, when any of us needed help, or just to check in and spend time together. Bob and Geraldine planned and hosted family celebrations dozens of times each year, arranging their homes beautifully to accommodate their ever-growing family and surrounding circle of close friends and extended family. Bob will be missed for the compassion, positive attitude, and most notably the roaring sense of humor he brought with him to these events and instilled in our memories.
Bob was a man of many talents and passions. He was a wicked card player, honing his skills in the dorms at college, and later teaching friends and family (so he could continually beat us at nearly every game). His talent and love for golf brought Bob much joy, but also bred a legacy of avid golfers who learned from Bob the value of spending time with loved ones in sport. "The Cottage" was another of Bob's passions that he and Geraldine graciously shared, offering a beach and a comfortable haven where generations could gather and create cherished memories. His penchant for telling jokes and ability to bring people together defined his essence. Bob's legacy of love, laughter, and togetherness will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Bob was destined to spend over 60 years with the love of his life, Geraldine, establishing several homes, cottages, and a family together in Royal Oak and greater Michigan. After Geraldine's passing in 2023, Bob spent the remaining year of his life in the home of his daughter, Marcella. Bob and Marcella were two peas in a pod; he could not have been happier spending his golden year with his youngest daughter. The two spent their days and evenings together, watching classic movies, cracking jokes, eating ice cream (Bob's favorite), and caring for each other and their dogs. Bob's family is grateful beyond measure for Marcella's dedication to Bob in his time of need.
The Pasquinelli Family extends an invitation to all friends and family to join us for a special celebration of Bob's life. Visitation will take place on Friday, April 5, between 2:00 and 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 1:00pm. Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home is located at 705 West 11 Mile Road, in Royal Oak (4 blocks east of Woodward). The family would also like to extend an invitation to all friends and family to join us at a luncheon immediately following the service.
