Robert Alexander Paulding, fondly known as Bob to his friends and family, passed away in Baltimore, Maryland, on January 16, 2025. Born on Christmas Day in 1947, in Berwyn Illinois, Bob's journey through life was one marked by creativity, adventure, and optimism.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Marge Paulding. He was a cherished son of the late Mary (Williamson) and Jack Paulding and brother to the late John Paulding. His beloved sister, Catherine Ketchum, along with his nephews Ben Ketchum and Jay Paulding, niece Leiland Morton, and three great-nephews, will forever hold fond memories of Bob's warmth and guidance.
After studying Commercial Art at Broward College in Florida, Bob embarked on a successful career in the office furniture business. His keen eye for design and his personable nature led him to excel as a Sales Manager at American Office in Baltimore. His colleagues remember him as a man who could light up any room with his innovative ideas and infectious enthusiasm. In retirement, Bob pursued his passion for photography, capturing the beauty of nature, landscapes, and the intricate designs of automobiles. His dedication to this art form culminated in the publication of his photography book, "Art of the Car."
Bob found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as biking and hiking, or traveling to new and exciting places. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and absolutely loved The Rolling Stones. Over the years, he adored 4 wonderful golden retrievers, and is now reunited with Mick, Shannon, Summer and Jackson. Those who know Bob will attest to his adventurous spirit, always eager to explore the unknown and take on new challenges. He approached life with unshakable optimism, seeing every setback as an opportunity to learn and grow. His creative mind never ceased to dream and innovate, leaving a legacy of beautiful artwork and cherished memories.
He will be remembered not just for his professional achievements, but for the way he touched the lives of those around him, with kindness, generosity, and a boundless zest for life. As we say farewell to Bob, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey of joy, creativity, and adventure. Though he may be gone, his spirit will continue to inspire all who were lucky enough to know him. Rest in peace, Bob. Your story is one that will be told with admiration for generations to come.
A "Celebration of Life" will occur at a future date.
