Robert E. Rhoades, 88, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. He was born on March 23, 1936 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Leo and Genevieve (Cross) Rhoades.
Robert retired from Lewis Bakery, and was employed by bakeries for a total of 50 years. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and The Senior Club at Holy Rosary. Bob was a loving dad and grandpa, and truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by daughters, Marybeth Storrow and Loriann Knight-Jones; son, Christopher Rhoades (Shannon); grandchildren, Chanell, Molly Jo, Mariah, Daniel, Taylor, Tanner, and Whitney Storrow, Jessica Knight, Callie, Zachary (Whitney) and Christopher Rhoades, Jr. and Cristina Hayes; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia Rhoades; daughters, Juliann Rhoades and Kristine Rhoades; brothers, Danford, Michael, and Ronald Rhoades; and sister, Theresa Rhoades.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville with a Memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Rd. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Father Bernie Etienne officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4550 Montgomery Ave., Suite 1100 N., Bethesda, MD 20814.
