Robert Shuris Sr. Obituary
Robert A. Shuris Sr., of Quincy, passed away peacefully at his home on January 7, 2025. Born in Chandler, Arizona, son to the late Anthony Robert Shuris and Christine Shuris, was raised in Dorchester with his loving family.
Robert's formative years were full of the joys and trials that accompany a life well-lived. He attended N. Quincy High School with a sense of purpose and pride, a precursor to the distinguished service he would later provide to his country as a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. His time in the military not only shaped his character but also reinforced his values of dedication and hard work.
Upon returning to civilian life, Robert channeled his skills and passion into his profession as a mechanic. His love for automobiles was more than just a hobby; it was a calling. For over 40 years, Robert worked at the family shop of A.R. Shuris & Son's in Dorchester MA and later when they relocated to Quincy. He poured his heart into his work, building not just engines but lasting relationships with those he served within the community.
Robert's life was enriched by his love for his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Laura (Egan) and a devoted father to Robert A. Shuris Jr. and his fiancée Christine Connolly of Weymouth, Joseph Shuris of Quincy, Amanda Freeman and her children. His role as a grandfather to Vanessa Shuris was one of his greatest joys, and he cherished every moment spent with her. Brother to Michael Shuris of Quincy, Cheryl Davidson of Quincy, and Deborah Shuris of RI. His family also extended to include the mother of his children and lifelong friend, Sandra Giammarco of Quincy, who, along with his children, survives him.
Robert's interests extended beyond the walls of his workshop. A true fan of the sport, he loved hockey and was an avid supporter of the Boston Bruins. His enthusiasm for the game was infectious, and he enjoyed sharing this passion with friends and family. However, his heart always returned to his love for cars, finding solace in the hum of an engine and the smooth ride of his Cadillac.
Those who knew Robert will remember him as "Chief." He was the epitome of friendliness, a man whose warm smile and genuine humor made him a beloved figure in his community. His legacy is not only in the machines he repaired but in the lives he touched with his kindness and compassion.
As we say goodbye to Robert A. Shuris Sr., we celebrate a life that was lived with purpose and joy. His memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. In honor of a life so beautifully lived and a heart so deeply loved, we bid farewell to Robert, a man whose presence was a gift to all. He has left us with memories that will forever be treasured, and a love that will never fade.

Michael and Robert´s extended family;
Please accept my condolences on Robert´s passing. As a motorcycle police officer for the METS starting about 1976 I spent many hours at "Tony´s" while my bike was serviced and I developed a friendship with the Shari´s family. Tony and Christine would be happy to know how well their boys have done maintaining the reputation of the business.
I am saddened by Robert´s passing and I hope you are comforted by your memories of a good man. Jack Flynn cycle 5

Sorry to hear of Bobby's passing. I remember him and Mike working with their father at Fields Corner. They maintained our bikes for the Transit Police and since I've retired, they've been maintaining my own Harley. Prayers and condolences to the Shuris family.

It was sad to learn of Bobbys passing.. I remember him as a young boy, along with his brother Michale helping their dad repairing the MDC Police motorcycles. Upon Tonys early death it was a testament to him that Bobby and Michael were able to continue to operate the repair shop. Bobby had a smile.

Thank you for your military service to our nation. May you now rest in peace.
