Robert "Bob" Tansel

Robert D. "Bob" Tansel, 78, of Centerton, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023 at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
He was born Saturday, February 24, 1945 to the late William A. and Irma E. (Dillon) Tansel in Indianapolis. On June 5, 1964, he married his wife, Diana S. (Dawson) Tansel who passed away March 19, 2014.
Bob was a 1963 graduate of Martinsville High School and went on to work at Allison in Indianapolis for 32 years. He was a faithful member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church but enjoyed traveling to other churches to visit. He loved gospel concerts and golfing. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and was a proud American man who took joy in all things American-made.
He is survived by his daughters, Deanna Tansel Ferguson and husband Ken Haas, Teresa Ard; siblings, Richard Tansel, Marilyn Bowers and husband Jerry, Virginia Kay Morris, William Tansel and wife Judy, Sheila Bishop and husband Eugene, Peggy Watkins and husband Jim, Mark Tansel and wife Regina; grandchildren, Erik Ferguson and wife Tammy, Bridgette Weible and husband Dustin, Branden Doss and wife Andrea, Jessica Shadwell and husband Blake; great grandchildren, Raelin Ferguson, Zoey Weible, Jada Shadwell, Paizley Weible, Konner Shadwell, Hazel Doss, Benjamin Doss, Parker Doss, Carson Lester, Briksley Lester; brothers-in-law, Tim Standeford, Wayne Reeves and wife Jeanette; sister-in-law, Joanie Smith and husband Jay; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; his beloved dog Olivia; and a special thanks to his caregiver, Tammy.
Preceding him in death are his wife, Diana; parents, William and Irma; son, Robert Dale "Bobby" Tansel, Jr., sister, Cheryl Standeford, brothers-in law, Rick Morris and Donnie Dawson and wife Sandy; sisters-in-law, Janet Tansel and Jeanette Reeves.
Visitation is 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Costin Funeral Chapel. Services will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeanine Burge officiating.
Bob will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
