Robert Dewayne "Dee" Virden passed away peacefully on June 22nd, 2024 at 5:19 p.m. at the Journey Home in Bartlesville, OK. Dee was born in Bartlesville, OK at the Memorial Hospital on September 3rd, 1957, to Robert and Wanda (Sires) Virden.
He was raised in the Ochelata and Bartlesville area where he attended school. After high school Dee worked for various contractors in the area but mainly for Virden Construction framing houses and building custom homes. Dee traveled a short time with his brother-in-law Dick Gagle and the Gagle Company installing high density liners around the country, a job he really enjoyed! Dee liked to fish and be outdoors, drink some beers and hang out with friends. He and his cousin Roger Virden were inseparable for years. Dee was heartbroken when Roger passed. To know Dee was to know his infectious laughter and smile. Dee had a big heart. He will be missed by tons of friends and a lot of family.
Dee was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Wanda, a little brother, Johnny, who he absolutely cherished and his cousin Roger Virden.
Dee is survived by his sister Karen Gagle and Husband Dick (Bartlesville), Brother Jim Virden and wife Melissa (Barnsdall),his son Ryan Virden (Milpitas, CA) and his grandson Gabriel Virden (Arlington, TX). Roger's granddaughter Courtney Lowe who took Dee under her care and kept him in line (the best she could) and a host of aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Too many to count!
Dee's celebration of life will be held July 9th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Stumpff Chapel. Come and share some memories.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Journey Home and/or Cornerstone Hospice.
