Roberta B. Scales

Roberta B. Scales, 99, of New Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday May 24, 2023 at Millers Merry Manor, New Carlisle. She was born on August 291923, to the late Frederick and Blanche (Fehlman) Blackert and lived in the area for most of her life. On January 1, 1944 she married Stanley Scales, who preceded her in death in 1997. She was also preceded in death by a sister and seven brothers. Roberta is survived by her daughter, Sharon (David) Chipman of Wheaton, IL, two sons, Dennis (Lynn) Scales of Acworth, GA and Paul (Diane) Scales of Rotonda West, FL, five grandchildren, Johnathon Chipman, Megan Chipman, Amber Scales, Kendall Garrett and Stephanie Podell and by six great-grandchildren, Zachary, Adam, Carly, Cole, Nate and Maloree. Mrs. Scales was a member of the New Carlisle United Methodist Church, Delta Theta Tau, The South Bend Snow Mobile Club, The Red Hat Club and enjoyed line dancing, card clubs, bridge and euchre. She also enjoyed many hours doing arts and crafts and loved cooking and entertaining family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., Friday June 30, 2023 at the New Carlisle United Methodist Church.
