Roberto "Bob" Diaz, loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend, of
Bay City, MI, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, at the age of 77 surrounded by his closest loved ones.
Bob was born on July 6, 1948, in Edinburg, TX, to Mr. and Mrs. Guadalupe Diaz. He grew up in Pinconning and graduated from Pinconning High School in 1967. Bob found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He loved golfing with his brother Phil, cheering on the Detroit Tigers and Lions, and enjoyed watching wrestling. Bob enjoyed being outdoors, whether working on projects in the yard or spending time with his beloved granddogs. Some of his happiest moments were attending his grandchildren's sporting events and dance recitals, always proud to be their biggest supporter.
Bob shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Maria E. Diaz. They were married on June 6, 1970, at St. James Church in
Bay City, MI, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love, faith, and family. Their marriage was a true example of devotion and commitment, and together they created a home filled with joy, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
He is survived by his adoring wife, Maria E. Diaz, and their loving daughter, Deanna "Roo" Diaz, who brought him immense joy and pride since the day she was born. He was a proud grandfather to Breanna (Richard) Hagen, Noah (Elizabeth) Facundo, Hanna (Gabe) Velazquez, and Julian Velasquez, and a beloved great-grandfather to Penelope and Elias Hagen. Bob is also survived by his brothers Manuel, Joe, Phil, Guadalupe, and Rene (Lysa) Diaz, along with his mother-in-law, Delia Lopez. He will be lovingly remembered by his in-laws Blanca (Frank) Garcia, Elsa (Gary) McClain, Nina (Scott) Lopez, Mario, Gary, Tony, and Jackie Lopez, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and a special mention to Missy and Bear.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible team at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, especially Dr. Lidsky, Dr. Spagnoli, Dr. Conlon, Dr. Erickson, and ICU nurses Grace and Abe, for their exceptional care and compassion.
