Robin was a champion of all things related to Copake Falls, with a family history spanning 3 generations and dating back to the 1920’s. Robin retired by the time she moved to Copake Falls; however, she never lived the retired life there. She volunteered countless hours of her free time to serve as a guide and unofficial ambassador for the Park, the Iron Works and would steer visitors towards local businesses, always trying to give them a boost. She was the founder of Copake Falls Day, Winter Walk and the First Day Hike at the Park, in addition to many other activities. Her passion for the community was remarkable and she found enjoyment in creating events designed to show how a tiny community can make a huge difference. She lived each day brightening the lives of everyone else around her.
Robin is survived by her three loving children, daughters Catherine Carey and her husband Chris; Lindsay Carlson and her partner, Mark Langevin; son Benjamin Allard and former daughter-in-law Joan. Her three adored grandsons, Charlie Carlson, Spencer & Sam Allard. Her nephew Alexander LeBrun and brother-in-law, Peter LeBrun.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two sisters, Amy Bruce and Anne LeBrun.
A celebration of Robin’s life will be held at a later date and will be announced. The family is grateful for the caring staff of Fairview Hospital Emergency Room & Phelps Cancer Center.
