Roger Joseph Barba Jr. 92 of Metairie, Louisiana peacefully passed away October 4 th , 2025. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1932. He was the devoted husband of 69 years to Sharon Barba.
He was a loving father to his sons, Stephen ( Pamela) Barba , Donald ( Sandra) Barba. He will always be remembered by his loving daughter in law, Terri Barba. He was a very proud grandfather of his 5 grandsons, R.J Barba, IV, Jeffrey Barba, (Olivia Cobb), Michael ( Ashley) Barba, Jonathan (Gabrielle ) Barba, and D.J. Barba ( Carlie Andre`). He was extremely honored to be the great grandfather of Emma Grace and Lucas John Barba. He is survived by one sister, Mary Evelyn Doody and nieces Kathleen (Jay ) Joyce, Mary Lyn ( David) Rawls.
He is preceded in death by his parents Roger and Evelyn Barba and one son Roger Barba III.
Roger was a long-time owner of Shell Airport Service. He was a great golfer and belonged to City Park Golf Club. He also was an avid bridge card player and played many hands with his beloved friends known as the Sacred Six. Watching his grandsons play high school and college sports was one of the greatest highlights of his life .
Services and visitation will be on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Saint Louis King of France, 1609 Carrollton Avenue in Metairie. Visitation will be 10:00-11:30, followed by a mass at 11:30-12:30. Burial will be at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery , 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, La. following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association , or mass intentions in his name.
Memories and condolences can be left on the obituary at the funeral home website.
