Roger passed away on December 6th, 2022 after a long battle with muscular dystrophy. He was 76 years old.
Predeceased by his parents, Jack and Shirley Sperling and his brother and sister in law Dick and Patti Sperling; and his friend Barry Cohen.
Survived by his wife, Deborah Sperling; children Shana and Natalie Sperling, granddaughter Everly Page, and his best friend Rick Keller.
Roger was born in Buffalo, NY on April 6, 1946. He married the love of his life, Deborah on March 11, 1973 at The U of R Interfaith Chapel. This coming year would have been their 50th wedding anniversary. Roger left lasting impressions with everyone he met. He was always quick with a joke or a silly comment. Aside from having a good laugh, Roger loved Saturday trips to Wegmans, movie nights at the theater, cars, traveling, and his family. Though the battle with this extremely debilitating disease was long and hard, Roger never complained or stopped fighting. He will always be an inspiration to us all.
There will be no formal service. We will be holding a gathering at our home in Webster, Friday 12/9/2022, between the hours of 5-8pm. For directions please contact Natalie at 585-576-4421 or [email protected].

Dear Deb, Shana and Natalie: I am so sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of him playing cards with us when our mom was in the hospital in 2003 and remember how funny he was and tried to make a tough time easier. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
