Roger William Stingl (1939-2025), age 85, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 9, 2025. A cherished husband and father, he always put family first and affectionately referred to his adored wife and their children as R&D-Roger and Darlings. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joanne, and their six children Debra, Daniel (Michele), Doreen, Patricia, Beth (Rob), and Jacqueline (Thomas); along with 10 grandchildren and 2 great children (Mitchell, Brittany, Spencer, Sophia, Steph, John, Makayla, Isla, Emerson, Kaitlyn, McKenzie, and Matthew).
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Business School, he greatly valued education and took immense joy in supporting and helping each of his children achieve the momentous life milestone of college graduation. An electrician by trade, one of his many remarkable attributes was his extraordinary ability to fix anything. He served as the Superintendent of Fleet and Traffic Maintenance of the City of Wauwatosa where he was a faithful government employee for over 40 years, and he would happily entertain everyone with stories from his days there recounting the arduous tasks of balancing budgets that ensured safe snow removal in winter. He also delighted listeners with tales from his travels, like fishing with his father-in-law, attending the famous Green Bay Packers Ice Bowl, and visiting countless Air Force bases to see his daughter. He will forever be missed by his family.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M. on Saturday February 15, 2025, at Saint Jude the Apostle Church, 734 Glenview Avenue, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin 53213, with a Mass of Catholic Burial held immediately following beginning at 11:30 A.M. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
