Ronald E. Baker Sr., age 78, of Weymouth, passed away peacefully into eternal life on February 16, 2024 with his loving wife by his side. He was the son of the late Ernest and Florence Baker. Ron was raised and educated in Weymouth, graduating from Weymouth High School in 1964. He married the love of his life, Linda, in 1970 and they were married for 53 years.
Ron graduated from New Hampshire College with a Bachelor's Degree. He served in the National Guard. After which he started his banking career working in Charlestown and later at South Weymouth Savings Bank and continued his career as a Mortgage Originator at Jack Conway Financial.
Ron was a special person to all that knew him. Ron enjoyed golfing with friends and family, going to Nantasket beach, playing cribbage, woodworking, spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid Boston sports fan. He devoted many years to coaching basketball, attending and umpiring his children's youth sports. He was past president of the Pond Plain Improvement Association.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Baker (Papkey) of Weymouth and his loving children Jennifer Feeney and her husband Jeff, of Hanson and Ronald Baker Jr. and his wife Annamarie, of Medford and his adoring grandchildren, Jay, Jaclyn, Brynn, Reese, Zachary and Brody. Ron will also be missed by his brother Kenneth Baker.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Ronald on Monday, February 26, from 4-7pm, in the CC Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St.(Columbian Sq.) South Weymouth. A Celebration of Life will be held the following morning in the funeral home at 9am, prior to the Mass at 10am, at the Saint Francis Xavier Church in Weymouth. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Weymouth.
