It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald J. Bertucci, Sr. announce his sudden passing on Friday, February 21, 2025 at the age of 78.
Ronnie is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Emily Bertucci (Liberto), his loving daughter Dina Bertucci Brunet (Craig), beloved son Ronald Bertucci, Jr. (Wendy), his adored grandchildren Colin Brunet (Jessica), Colby Brunet (Camille), Madison Bertucci Gordon (Pat), Logan Bertucci (Megan Faustermann), Brody Bertucci, Cooper Brunet and seven beautiful great grandchildren Croix, Creed, Jaxtyn, Cyr, Siena, Sutton and Gianna). He also leaves behind his loving sister Virginia Walters (Kenny), godchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elmire Bertucci, siblings Jo Ann Liberto (Vincent), Michael Bertucci (Priscilla), and Joseph Bertucci (Dawn).
Ronald was born on August 31, 1946 in New Orleans. He attended St. Rita's Catholic School, De La Salle High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern University. He worked as an accountant for International Lubricant Corporation, Shell Metairie Plant and retired from Shell Norco. He later enjoyed being an electrician for LSU Health and Science Center.
Ronnie served his community in many ways. He served in the United States Army as a Corporal Specialist in San Antonio, Texas. He was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Divine Providence Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and even served as the Grand Knight. He was a member of the Third District Volunteer Fire Department. He served as the Booster Club president at Delta Playground where he also spent many years playing, coaching and supporting everyone who played there.
Ronnie was a loving and devoted husband, father, father-in-law and Taw-Taw to so many. He was a faith-filled, honest, kind and generous man. He was always ready to give of his time and talents to anyone in need. He will be missed dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to join us at Our Lady of Divine Providence Church, 8617 W. Metairie Ave., on Thursday, February 27, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by mass at 12:30 p.m. Internment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive,
Metairie, LA 70001.
