Ronald "Leggs" Clark Obituary
Ronald Jay Clark "Leggs", 76, of Gainesville passed away March 1, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Leggs was born in Livingston, Tennessee and was the son of late Collis Clark and Lois Clark. He graduated from Gainesville High School, attended Gainesville College, and served in the US Army National Guard. Leggs was given the nickname "short legs" in high school and was fondly known as "Leggs" his entire life.
Leggs enjoyed his longtime career as a local business owner with Leggs Package Store and real estate investor. As a Gainesville native, Leggs was beloved by the Gainesville community for his warm personality and amazing sense of humor. He could often be found on his pontoon boat, making multiple morning stops to the Inn Between Deli, or on the Chattahoochee Country Club golf course.
Leggs and his wife Sally loved spending time with their family, especially with their three grandsons and two daughters. He was a devoted father, never missing a Lakeview Academy sporting event, traveling to his daughters' respective college towns (Hotty Totty), and enjoying quality time with them at home. He was also a devoted grandfather, affectionately known as "Jeep" to his grandsons. Being remembered as the life of the party, Leggs loved bringing people together and never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lois and Collis Clark, brother Robert Clark, sister Gloria Wade, sister-in-law Barbara Clark, and brother-in-law Edward Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years (not including 12 of dating) Sally McCalla Clark; daughters Katie Martin (Caleb), Elizabeth Clark; grandsons Henry, Charlie, and Jack Martin; sister-in-law Sandra Brown; nephews Edward Brown (Melonie), Scott Brown (Sarah Ross), and Jason Brown (Allison) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to the Leggs Clark Memorial Fund. https://everloved.com/life-of/leggs-clark/donate/
The family will receive friends from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Gainesville United Methodist Church with the service following at 6:00 pm at the church. Interment will be at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs
