Gelaude, Ronald
Brighton, Michigan
His Legacy Ronald "Ron" Charles Gelaude, 75, went to be with Jesus on October 10, 2024. He was born on December 19, 1948, in Brown City, Michigan to Robert Leo Gelaude and Edith (Brown) Gelaude. Ron graduated from South Lyon High School (1967), William Tyndale College (BRE, Pastoral Studies, 1994), Michigan Theological Seminary (Masters of Theological Studies, 1997), and Eastern Michigan University (Master of Communication Studies, 2001). He served in Vietnam with the Air Force from 1968-1971. He began his career with Memorex until going to seminary and becoming a pastor. Ron had the privilege of pastoring various churches in Michigan (Oakwood, The River and Connexions) and upon retirement served as an interim pastor for the Great Lakes Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Ron taught at Moody Theological Seminary for 23 years before his retirement. Ron married Janet (Olson) Davis, on October 4, 2014, in Brighton, Michigan. He will be remembered for his compassion, his daily love letters to Jesus, his love for teaching the Word of God, enthusiastically participating in domestic and overseas mission trips, and being a faithful prayer warrior. Ron also loved trail running, fishing, camping and spending time with family and friends. He had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed bringing a smile to all who were around him.
His Family Ron will be deeply missed by his wife, Janet Gelaude; siblings, Ken Hill, Larry (Loretta) Hill, William (Fran) Hill; his step-children, Justin (Aubrey) Davis, Ryan (Leslie) Davis, Jordan Davis; grandchildren Joseph, Paul, Jack, Charlotte, Ella, Kennedy, Mason, Russell; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie (Loop) Gelaude; brothers, Bobby Hill, Michael "Spike" Gelaude; sister in law, Pat Hill, and parents, Robert and Edith Gelaude.

Ron lived across the street from us. He always had a smile on his face and was quick with a friendly wave and cheerful conversation. Ron was gentle, friendly and kind, especially to our young boys at the time. He will be missed and many prayers for Janet... Kevin and Tina Carlile
