Ronald E. "Ronnie" Meyerhoeffer, 78, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at his home.
Mr. Meyerhoeffer was born October 31, 1946, in Rockingham County, Virginia and was the son of the late Milford Vernon, Sr. and Ella Pearl Stover Meyerhoeffer. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Milford Vernon Meyerhoeffer, Jr.; a sister, Nancy Lee Meadows, and a grandson, Preston James Emswiler.
On April 5, 1969, he married Sue Carol Nesselrodt Meyerhoeffer who survives.
Ronnie was a graduate of Montevideo High School and grew up in the Goods Mill area of Rockingham County. He worked at McQuay International, now Daikin Applied Inc. and was a building contractor by trade. Ronnie was a member of Victory Fellowship Church in Dayton. He enjoyed playing golf, antique tractors, attending auctions, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved going to Virginia Beach and visiting family in Ohio.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a son, Jerry W. Meyerhoeffer and wife, Melissa; a daughter, Dawn Michelle Emswiler and husband, James, three grandchildren, Kayla and Leah Emswiler, and Ethan Meyerhoeffer; special family members, Robert and Pauline Newton of Centerburg, OH; brother-in-law, Dale Nesselrodt; sister-in-law, Sandra McDorman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, with the Pastor Bill Curry officiating, the casket will remain closed. Interment will be private at Rawley Springs Mennonite Cemetery in Hinton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity close to your heart.
