Ward Meyerhoeffer Obituary

Ward Andes Meyerhoeffer, Jr.
October 16, 1930 - July 2, 2022
Warner Robins, Georgia - Ward Andes Meyerhoeffer, Jr., was born at home in Erwin, Tennessee on October 16, 1930 to Ward A. Meyerhoeffer, Sr., and Janie Miller Meyerhoeffer. When Ward was 12 years old, his family moved to Johnson City, Tennessee, where he created wonderful memories with life-long buddies; Doug Sizemore and Herb Irish.
Ward attended Science Hill High School and East Tennessee State University, where he met the love of his life, Shirley Isbell. They married June 21, 1952 and were devoted to each other for 47 years. Ward finished his degree in Dentistry at the University of Tennessee and joined the United States Air Force. While in the service he earned a degree in Orthodontics from the University of Missouri. After 24 years, he retired from the military and practiced Orthodontics in Warner Robins for 20 years.
An avid hunter, his beloved bird dogs gave him great joy, but fishing was his true passion. He was very close to his brother-in-law, Jim Darden and they spent many enjoyable hours together casting lures and flies. He instilled a love of the outdoors in his children and laid the foundation for their Christian faith through his example of faithfulness. His grandchildren loved to go fishing with him, bake a pie in his kitchen, or see him watching from the stands when they were competing in a sport. He loved to tell them stories of his childhood and life experiences. He was a part of the Greatest Generation and learned to be frugal by living through the Depression. His kindness and generosity were his own; and well known.
His parents, wife, and sister, Phyllis Darden preceded him in death.
He is survived by daughter, Nancy Buchanan; son, Michael Meyerhoeffer; grandchildren; Megan Lichty (Daniel), Meredith Mesko (Michael), Kirstin Meyerhoeffer, Nolan Meyerhoeffer, and Sallie Kate Meyerhoeffer; great- granddaughter, Brighton Buchanan; brother-in-law, Jim Darden; nephews; Keith Darden, Jeff Darden, Bobby Lovin, Hugh Lovin, and Jim Isbell; nieces; Debbie Grimes, Denise Bryant, Melissa Randiazzo, and Rebecca Flick; and many great-nieces; and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at Warner Robins First Baptist Church on July 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
"For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that dayâ€"and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
