Ron was born in Evansville, Indiana on January 19, 1935 to the late Orvil and Hallie (Cates) Pritchett. He graduated from Central High School and honorably served in the United States Army for two years. Ron worked at Bluebird Pie Route and Wesselman's Grocery Store. He began teaching guitar in the early 60's and played in many local bands as well as many stage bands for well-known entertainers that came through the tri-state. Ron also enjoyed playing in the stage band for many years at the Shrine Circus. He was passionate about the guitar and was very influential in his students lives. In his free time, Ron enjoyed going to flea-markets and spending time with his beloved dogs and cats. Above all, Ron loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Vicki J. Elkins (Jim) of Evansville, IN; son, Ronald Dale "Buddy" Pritchett of Huntingburg, IN; life partner, Pat Kirtley of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Sean McDonald (Audrey), Michael "Alex" Brooks (Mabel), Matthew Brooks and Lakota Pritchett (Elizabeth); great grandchildren, Preston McDonald, Addison McDonald, Emerson McDonald, Waylon McDonald and Elijah Brooks.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly (Schoettlin) Pritchett; and by his parents.
A Celebration of Ron's life will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711.
Friends may visit from 2:00 pm until service time on Thursday at Browning Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Vanderburgh Humane Society, PO Box 6711, Evansville, IN 47719 or to Heart to Heart Hospice, 610 E. Walnut St., Evansville, IN 47710.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassionate care given to Ron.

I had the pleasure of taking guitar lessons from Ron. I learned so much about music and guitar from Ron. He will be missed.

I have very fond memories of Ron as he played in bands with my brother Bookie Buchenberger . He also taught music to our son Dan Thuerbach. We haven't seen him for a long time but have thought about him. We send our thoughts and condolences to his family. God bless you all.
