Ronald Talbot Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Chapel & Cremation Center - Murray on Dec. 20, 2024.
With a twinkle in his eye and a joke on the tip of his tongue, Ronald Lee Talbot, known to all as Ron, was a beacon of wit and resilience to those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Born on July 20, 1945, in Murray, Utah, Ronald lived a life full of laughter, love, and adventure. Throughout his 79 years, he left a profound impact on those around him - his loving nature and thoughtful disposition reflected in every interaction.
Ronald had a way of lighting up a room with his infectious laughter and engaging stories. He was a proud veteran, having served with the U.S. Army Special Forces MACV-SOG, a highly classified unit that conducted covert operations during the Vietnam War. His resilience was evident not only in his military service but also in his professional life. His tenure at Home Depot spanned over 25 years, a testament to his dedication and hard work. Even in retirement, Ronald carried his spirited nature, dedicating his time to flying airplanes, collecting watches and knives, and playing with his three beloved dogs: Bentley, Grace, and Skooters.
Survived by his loving wife Teresa Talbot, his children Jennifer Fairbanks, Chris Benedict, Brandon Benedict, and Heidi Petersen, and his sister Gwen Anderson, Ronald's legacy lives on in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Vivian Talbot, and his sister Kay Smith. As Victor Hugo once said, "To love or have loved, that is enough. Ask nothing further. There is no other pearl to be found in the dark folds of life." Ronald, with his loving heart and thoughtful spirit, found and shared that pearl with everyone he met.
The viewing will be held on Saturday, 21 Dec 2024 at 10:00-10:45 am MST, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am MST at Jordan Oaks 2nd Ward, 8117 South 3905 West, West Jordan, Utah, 84088. In memory of Ronald, you are invited to share your memories and upload photos to the memorial page. Let us remember Ronald, not in sorrow or loss, but in the joy and love he brought into our lives.
