Publish in a newspaper

Ronald D. Treamer, age 78, of Shorewood, passed away at home on Friday, October 3, 2025.
Survived by his children, David (Kim) Treamer, Jennifer (Joel) Marino, and Tara (Shawn) Schumacher; grandchildren, Taylor (Samantha) Treamer, Cameron (Annika) Treamer, Luke Marino, Matthew Schumacher, William Schumacher, Katherine Schumacher, and Michael Schumacher; great-grandchildren, Kaysen, Charlotte and Beau; brother, Gary (Sharon) Treamer; sister-in-law, Christine "Honey" Sterms; brother-in-law, Frank (Mary) Baron; nieces, Donna Sterms and Karen Sterms; nephews, Scott (Ashley) Treamer and Jason (Angela) Treamer; his faithful canine companion, "Cooper".
Preceded in death by his wife, Linda L. "Lynne" Treamer; parents, Robert and Shirley Treamer and numerous canine companions. "Roon" to his buddies and "Fun Sucker" or "Grumpa" to the grandkids when they didn't get their way, Ron was a devoted family man who worked hard and loved fiercely. Family was everything to him, especially his beloved "Red."
He was a fairly reserved man who was rarely ever the first to start a conversation, but when engaged in banter, he was known for his quick wit, stinging one-liners, and unexpected, hilarious comments. He enjoyed his "chasing" with Jen and Tara, his weekly dinners with his best friends, Matt and Luke, his Sunday phone conversations and various veterans events with Dave, and his spontaneous lunches with his work friends.
He took great pride in his family, America, and the Navy. The world lost a great man who will be dearly missed by many.
Visitation for Ron will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 9:30am – 10:30am at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Ave., Joliet, IL. Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 10:30 A.M. Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL at 1:00 P.M. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Ron's name to American Legion Post 113, 102 S. 3rd Street, Mt. Horeb, WI, or to the Animal Rescue of your choice would be most appreciated.
Arrangements entrusted to Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, IL 60431, 815-725-0100, www.farkasfuneralhome.com.
