Ronald R. Voorhees, 89 of Medina, OH passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Medina Hospital following a brief illness.
Ron was born April 12, 1934 in Lafayette, OH to the late Donald and Vida (Lance) Voorhees. His family moved to Homerville where he graduated from Homerville High School in 1952. He married Maude Brinker on July 3, 1954 in Spencer United Methodist Church. They resided in Spencer for 32 years before moving to Medina in 1987.
Ron owned and operated Lithron Printing in Medina for 41 years before selling the business and retiring in 2005. He was a true craftsman and artisan in the printing profession, and earned numerous awards for his work at the annual Print Week Awards.
Ron was a member of Spencer United Methodist Church, the Spencer, Chatham and Medina Historical Societies, and Chippewa Valley Chapter of The Ohio Archeological Society. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Maude;
son, Tom (Joan) Voorhees of Cleveland Heights;
daughter, Stephanie (Orren) Snyder of West Salem;
grandchildren, Gregory and Ryan Voorhees, Aaron (Amanda) Snyder and Ashley (Octa) Retegan;
great-grandchildren, Evan, Hadassah, and Caleb;
step-great-grandchildren, Jonathon, Weston, and Grayson;
brother, Calvin;
sister-in-law, Marie Taylor;
uncle to a niece and nephews, and story teller to all.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Justin Voorhees.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 9, at 11:00 AM at Spencer United Methodist Church, 201 East Main St., Spencer, OH. Pastors Jeremy Roseberry and Reid Firestone will officiate. A luncheon will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service.
