Ronnie H. Hayes, 77, formerly of Wichita Falls, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 26th, at Riverside Cemetery in Wichita Falls, Texas, with Pastor David Mosley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
Ronnie was born outside of Durant, Oklahoma, on a farm and came to Wichita Falls with his sister, Dianne on March 17, 1950. His parents were B.F. Hayes and Vera (Lee) Hayes. Ronnie attended McGaha and Bonham Elementary, Barwise Junior High and graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1966. He worked at DTI dental lab for ten years before moving to North Carolina for 8 years.
When he returned to Wichita Falls, he helped take care of his parents while working at Southwestern Bell. After his parents passed, he moved to Gainesville to be closer to family and worked at Walmart until he retired in 2012. He moved and lived in Krum, Texas, around 2019 until he passed.
Ronnie was proud of his family and had many relatives and friends who he stayed in contact with throughout his life. He loved music, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed reading, history and watching college and professional football. He looked forward every year to attending the reunion of Corsicana State Home where his father grew up. Ronnie had an amazing memory and loved sharing his knowledge.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, B.F. and Vera Hayes and sister Dianne (Hayes) Lear. He leaves behind nieces Stephanie Lear, Kristi Lear and Paula (Mark) Graves; great nephews Austin (Taylor) Givens, Andrew (Jessica Nalley) Graves and Cooper Lear; one great great-niece, Palmer Kay Givens; sisters Ann Steele of Colbert, Oklahoma; and Annette Gentry.
Ronnie had countless other family members, childhood friends and classmates that he left behind.

Pastor Tim Robinson

June 25, 2025

It was an honor to serve Ronnie as his pastor. He was a faithful Christian and member of Plainview Baptist Church in Krum, TX. He attended worship services every Sunday and always arrived early. He was usually the first person I would meet and greet every Sunday and he would always ask about my family and grandson and then tell me about history books or a new biography he was reading. He also read his Bible from cover to cover several times. Cowboys Restaurant in Krum was one of his favorite hangouts and he and I and others from his church enjoyed having lunch with him there. I will miss seeing Ronnie on Sunday mornings. He was always an encouragement to me. Now he is home in Heaven. I lost a great encourager and friend but look forward to seeing him one day at our heavenly reunion.
