Rosalee H. Segbers, affectionately known as "Rose," passed away on August 17, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on May 25, 1933, in Wesken, Kansas, she was the beloved daughter of Frank and Kathryn Schmidt. Rose was a devoted wife and mother, exemplifying strength and love throughout her life.
A graduate of Wallace County High School, she developed a passion for beauty and style, which led her to a fulfilling career as a hair stylist. Rose's dedication and creativity were evident not only in her work but also in her home, where she was known to be the boss, nurturing her family with great care and affection.
For 68 wonderful years, Rose shared her life with her dear husband, John Segbers, whose companionship enriched her journey. Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter and celebration, especially during the holidays, where Rose’s exceptional cooking skills shined.
Rose was a proud mother to her loving children: Steve Segbers, Dennis (Sandy) Segbers, Mark (Melissa) Segbers, Carol (Mike) Meucci, and Lisa (Chris) Cummings. She held the title of grandmother with great pride, cherished by her grandchildren Brittany, Jenny (Mike), Chris, Justin (Jen), Melissa (Dane), Tanner, Carly, Madison (Zach), Adam, Evan, Mike, Charlotte, as well as step-grandchildren Abby and Candice. Her great-grandchildren, Mikael, Caelyn, River, Rumi, Otto, Sterling, Landon, Dax, Wesley, and Lily, brought her immense joy and were a testament to her legacy.
In addition to her immediate family, Rose is survived by her brother, Gary Schmidt, and her daughter-in-law, Maggie Segbers. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband, John, and her son, John Segbers, as well as her granddaughter Shannon.
Rose loved the sun and took great pleasure in swimming at Phillips Swim Club, embracing every moment with a spirited joy that inspired those around her. Her proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her family, which she nurtured with unconditional love and support.
