Rosalyn ("Rosie") Ebertz, age 88, of Mt. Calvary, passed away on April 8, 2025, at the Villa Rosa Assisted Living Facility.
She was born August 26, 1936, in Calvary Station, to Christian and Irene (Pickart) Haensgen. She attended Mt. Calvary Catholic School in Mt. Calvary and graduated from Mt. Calvary in 1950. She attended high school from 1950-1952.
On Sept. 3, 1955, she married Vincent Ebertz at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mt. Calvary. After marriage, they settled in Puddlefort (Calvary Station) to raise their four children. She was the secretary for many years for the Christian Mother's at Holy Cross Parish.
Rosie worked at the Villa Loretto in the kitchen for 12 years with other Holyland ladies and described her most fun-filled job making homemade meals for the residents. She later worked at the Fond du Lac County Health Center in the laundry department and developed long lasting friendships with colleagues.
Rosie and her husband were active in the Holyland Fliers Snowmobile Club and a mixed bowling league in Mt. Calvary. She personalized many birdhouses that Vince built with painting, stenciling and finishing touches. She participated in ceramic classes for many years and her family cherishes them greatly. Rosie enjoyed many hours attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting and musical events. She loved volunteering at the Villa Loretto.
Survivors include her four children, Tom (Pam) Ebertz of Surprise AZ, Jim Ebertz of Belmont CA, Linda (Roberto) Alvarez of Heber AZ, Steve (Nancy) Ebertz of Howards Grove; 5 grandchildren, Brent Alvarez, Jackson (Marisa) Ebertz, Haley (fiancé Sam) Ebertz, Bennett (special friend Abby) Ebertz, and Caden Ebertz; one sister Jean (Joe) Schmitt. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Vince, her parents, Christian and Irene, 2 brothers, (Harold & Robert), 2 sisters (Lois & Betty).
A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-Holy Cross Site, 308 S. County Road W, Mt. Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Paul Koenig, OFM Cap and Rev. Oliver Bambenek, OFM Cap officiating. Cremation will follow and burial will be in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Mt. Calvary.
Visitation: Friends may call at Our Lady of the Holy Land Catholic Church in Mt. Calvary from 9:30-11:30 am on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
The family would like to extend special thanks for the loving care provided by Jennifer, Katie, Sarah, Kya, Kyla, Rae, Faith and the rest of the staff at the Villa Rosa. Heartfelt thanks to Sr. Stephen and Sr. Jenada for their friendship and spiritual guidance through Rosie's final journey. The family also expresses heartfelt appreciation to Agnesian Hospice team for the compassionate care provided for mom.
