Ruben "Nunu" Nanez

Ruben "Nunu" Nañez, age 63, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 24, 2022 in El Paso, Texas. He was a long-life resident of Anthony. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and will be greatly missed. He married his teenage sweetheart on Valentine's Day and they were married for 42 years. He worked his whole life using his hands a trade learned from his father for Nañez Construction. He enjoyed the outdoors camping, fishing traveling, boating and racing. One of his favorite views is always being close and seeing the ocean. Ruben is preceded in death by his mother; Theodora Valencia, and his sister; Velia Sena. He is survived by his father; Baltazar Nañez, his wife; Annette Nañez, his children; Christopher Nañez (Liliana), Tanya Arellano (Gilbert), and Derrick Nañez (Deanna), his sisters; Irene Mora and Helen Hottman, as well as his grandchildren; Andre Arellano, Lydia Nañez, Darcy Nañez, Nazareth Arellano, Novalynn Murphy, Dominic Nañez, Dylan Nañez, Orion Arellano, Ariel Mae Arellano, Brandon Vasquez, Dhana Vasquez, and Ela Dominguez. He is also survived by many extended friends and family to cherish and honor his memory.
He told his wife he would always be there to feed and care for his two poodles, needless to say that was not the case. The job of caring for the poodles was bestowed upon his wife due to his chronic illnesses. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him for he gave us the greatest gift of love. Taking him home and helping him finish his race would be his pallbearers Gilbert Arellano, Andre Arellano, Nazareth Arellano, Dominic Nanez, Estevan "Louie" Ruiz and David Duran.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 01, 2022 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Holy Rosary to be followed at 7:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home- West. A Funeral Mass service will be held Tuesday, August 02, 2022 at 10:00am, at Sunset Funeral Home-West. A Graveside Service will follow at 11:30am, at the Anthony Community Cemetery; N 4th St &, Acosta Rd, Anthony, NM 88021
