Russell Thomas Hunt

Russell Thomas Hunt, 58, of Laurens, and husband of Rhonda McNuer Hunt, passed away at his home, on Sunday, September 8, 2024, peacefully and joyfully leaving cancer and pain behind.
Born in Woodruff, he was the son of Nancy Hill Hunt Nieman of Laurens and the late David Walter Hunt. Russ was the owner and operator of Hunt's Plumbing in Laurens. He was a member of Highland Home Baptist Church and attended The Tavern Church (formerly Hickory Tavern Church of God). Russ loved cars and drag racing, animals, fishing, and was a friend to everyone; however, the sun rose and set with his grandchildren, whom he adored and loved with all his heart. Russ looked forward to finally being at home with his father and fur baby Pepper.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by children: Brandy Hunt Moore (Brandon) of Gray Court and Charlee Hunt Culbertson (Matthew) of Laurens; grandchildren, Carter Moore, Mattison Culbertson, Jameson Moore, and Harper Culbertson; a sister, Kris Hunt Smith (Kevin) of Clinton; niece, Meggan Gambrell (Ruben); his fur baby, "Buddy," and father-in-law, Jim McNuer of Gray Court.
In addition to his father, he is predeceased by an infant sister, Davina Nan Hunt.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at The Tavern Church, conducted by Rev. Ben Rumph, Rev. Chad Jordan, and Rev. Billy Cathcart. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Interment will follow at Highland Home Baptist Church Cemetery, 21 Equinox Dr., Gray Court, SC, 29645.
The family will be at the home.
