Obituary of Ruth Ann VanOstenbridge
Ruth Ann "Ruthie" VanOstenbridge, 79, of Clearwater passed away February 19, 2024 at home. Born in
White Plains, NY, her childhood was spent growing up in Rye, NY and Wayne, NJ. Before marrying in 1966,
she attended Trenton State College as an English major.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ruth Adrian, and is survived by her husband of 58
years, Kenneth VanOstenbridge; children Erin Mitchell and Brian VanOstenbridge; granddaughter Sarah
Mitchell; and brother George Adrian.
Ruth was always an avid reader and an exceptional cook, she very much enjoyed hosting family for
holidays. She and her husband shared a love for baseball, she rarely missed an opportunity to watch her
beloved Rays play. She took great pride in keeping a meticulous home and spent a great deal of time
maintaining a beautiful yard. Before moving to Florida and becoming a doting grandmother, Ruth loved
her job working as a bookstore clerk and shared many interesting stories about the people she would
meet. She will be remembered fondly by family, friends and neighbors for her thoughtfulness, her whiteknuckle driving style, and for keeping everyone on their toes. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may
be made to easterseals by visiting easterseals.com or calling (800) 221-6827, or to the March of Dimes by
